A special place to stay in Snowdonia National Park
Graig Wen provides self-catering accommodation in Snowdonia National Park, with four holidays lets, a touring camp site, and yurts. There is Bed and Breakfast accommodation on site at The Slate Shed. With direct access to The Mawddach Trail and Estuary, we make the perfect rural retreat for walking, bird-watching, mountain-biking or stargazing. Children will love the freedom to scramble around and find natural treasures. Photographers and artists often get no further than where our fields meet the Mawddach Estuary.
The holiday cottages and B & B are part of a converted Victorian slate cutting mill which perches above 40 acres of wild woodland and pasture leading down to the water. Watch the buzzards wheel overhead or hang out with the herons.
Explore the wild west of Wales
From our accommodation in Snowdonia you can step straight onto the coastal Mawddach cycle trail, and explore upland walks in the forest and foothills. The spectacular Cadair Idris mountain rises steeply behind us and there are magnificent views towards Barmouth's bridge and sandy beaches. Coed-y- Brenin's challenging mountain bike routes, Portmeirion and Harlech Castle are all within easy reach.
You'll find natural beauty in this quiet corner of Snowdonia National Park whatever time of year you choose to stay – bluebells in spring, summer sunsets, phenomenal autumn colours and sparkling winter mornings. Please visit Graig Wen on Facebook for more photos and remember to Like our page if you want to stay in touch.
