Touring camp site overlooks Mawddach Estuary Pitches for tents Basic washing facilities and showers Panorama view pitches with hardstanding and electic hook ups

Camping & Caravanning

Our touring site is now closed until 1 March -booking open for 2012 now.

Our camp site in Snowdonia National Park has been chosen to feature in the Cool Camping guides - we are in the Top 3 sites in the latest edition of Cool Camping Wales.  We are proud to have won a Green Snowdonia Award for Most Sustainable Camp Site and just been featured in The Independent's Top 50 Camp sites.

Campers with motorhomes, caravans and smaller tents can pitch safely on our peaceful 15 pitch touring site from March to December, where some pitches have sweeping views over the Mawddach Estuary and surrounding mountains and there is easy access to washing facilities and showers.

In peak season tent campers can also pitch on our lower camping fields in sheltered glades, secret meadows or high on a bluff overlooking the estuary - click here to check opening dates. We also have a pre-erected canvas bell tent for hire during July and August as well as our yurts.

Sarah and John moved to Graig Wen in 2007 and we are working to improve the facilities and manage the conservation of 40 acres of Snowdonia National Park.  But mostly we want to keep Graig Wen the way it is - wild and special.

TOURING CAMP SITE

There are 8 hard standing pitches with electric hook ups suitable for smaller motorhomes, caravans and smaller tents.  There are also a few grass pitches for tent campers.

The site is surrounded by the dramatic scenery of Snowdonia National Park - watch the shadows race over the mountains and the ebb and flow of the Mawddach Estuary. Shelter is provided by oak, birch and rowan trees and hill sides covered in heather and moss. You can see more pictures on our Facebook page.

There is direct access down a steep track through meadows and woodland to the Mawddach cycle Trail along the estuary.  The wildlife here is wonderful - regularly seen (or heard) on site are owls, buzzards, woodpeckers, wagtails and even nightjars.

With rugged scenery and rocky outcrops around the site, it's advisable to bring sturdy tent pegs!
