B&B accommodation in Snowdonia
We believe our Bed and Breakfast accommodation offers some of the best views in Wales, if not the world! Judge for yourself, as you enjoy an excellent breakfast watching the tidal ebb and flow. Or have a drink on the terrace and catch the sun setting over the Mawddach Estuary and hills of Snowdonia National Park.
Caban culture
Get together for an informal evening meal with other guests around the refectory-style table in what we call the ‘Caban'. Here, Welsh quarry workers would traditionally have met for meals, music and conversation. We like to think we are bringing back a bit of relaxed caban culture to this former Victorian slate cutting mill.
You can still see the stone incline which used to transport slate from the mill down to the wharf below. Graig Wen means “white rock” – a reference to the quartz seams found in the slate and the gleaming rocks you might find around the site.
Our guest room names are inspired by one of the more obscure veins in the rich mine of Welsh music - Welsh rare beat. It's not all Tom Jones and male voice choirs! Read more...
