If you don’t feel like eating in, there are plenty of options to eat out. Graig Wen is just a 10-minute drive from some of the best cafes, pubs, and restaurants in Snowdonia.
GLAMPING
Hideaway in one of our stunning shepherd’s huts or cosy wooden wagons. Each kitchenette is stocked with a two-ring gas cooker, hot water, and a fire pit.
Great Food & Drink On-Site
Craft beer or lager from one of our local breweries can be bought here on-site. Order breakfast croissants or bread at our camp shop, or get your morning fix of flat white from our pop-up reception. Pre-order hampers of Welsh treats and wine for your arrival here.
Wednesday night is Pizza Night at Graig Wen during the school summer holidays! Pre-order wood-fired pizzas made with local produce by our friends at Pen y Gader. Enjoy them in the open, or take them back to the cottage to enjoy in private.

What is Self-Catering Accommodation?
If it’s self-catering holiday accommodation, that means you can cook meals for yourself. You will have unlimited access to a private kitchen or kitchenette with a stove and cooking utensils. Depending on the accommodation you rent, you may even have access to a fire pit, oven, and kitchen appliances.
While we don’t have a restaurant at our Barmouth campsite, we do have a community fridge-freezer for glamping guests and a camp shop. You can order freshly baked food, local produce, or veggie and vegan pastries. Plus plenty of essentials for your fire pit or log burner.
What Should You Pack for a Self-Catering Wales Holiday?
In terms of food, you should take shelf-stable essentials with you to save on buying them when you arrive. Perishables like meat and vegetables need to be transported in a coolbox to preserve them. Priorise dietary requirement essentials like gluten-free pasta first; you don’t want to be caught off guard if they are out of stock on arrival.
There are plenty of supermarkets and speciality shops near our Barmouth & Dolgellau campsite, so you don’t need to pack everything and the kitchen sink ahead of your holiday.
Should You Bring Dinnerware or Cleaning Supplies to a Self-Catering Holiday Cottage?

What is the Difference Between Self-Catering Cottages and Glamping Huts?
The self-catering holiday cottages have fully-equipped kitchens and dining areas. Glamping options have equipped kitchenettes and firepits. With a cottage, you will have a more traditional cooking experience, whereas with glamping accommodation, you’re encouraged to embrace the camping lifestyle.
You are welcome to bring your own BBQ to your glamping hut, but it must be lifted off the ground to prevent scorching the grass. Disposable BBQs are not allowed on-site.
Do the Self-Catering Glamping Huts Have Fridges?
All our glampers share a community fridge/freezer at the Barmouth campsite. You also have access to a coolbox, but we recommend that it be used to cool drinks only.
