WELSH FOOD & DRINK FOR SELF CATERING HOLIDAY IN WALES

Food and Drink Near Our Campsites in Snowdonia Wales

There’s a great range of shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants within 10 minute’s drive of Graig Wen. From salt marsh lamb to Cardigan Bay crab and Dolgellau’s delicious speciality honey buns, you’ll find plenty to tingle your tastebuds!

Food and drink shopping near Dolgellau

Dolgellau has an excellent butchers, a couple of bakeries and Gwin Dylanwad is a popular boutique wine store which also sells Welsh cheeses and snacks.  There’s a couple of supermarkets too, perfect if you’re staying in our Dolgellau cottage. Every Thursday there’s a small market in Dolgellau selling fresh fruit and veg, locally made jams and baked goods, and there’s a large street market every Wednesday in Machynlleth (a stunning half-hour drive through the mountain pass) which is good for fresh veg too.  You can order crab and lobster from The Lobster Pot in Barmouth and fresh fish from the seaside town of Aberdyfi.  You’ll find a warm welcome in our independent stores where you’ll hear the Welsh language being spoken – try saying Diolch / thanks!

Food and drink at Graig Wen

For those staying at our campsites in Snowdonia Wales, who fancy a craft beer or lager from one of our local breweries can buy them here on site.  You can also order breakfast croissants and get your morning fix of flat white from our pop-up reception. There’s a beach bar in Fairbourne or work up a thirst walking along the Mawddach Trail for a pint in the George III pub. If you’re staying in our Dolgellau Holiday Cottages, Dylan’s wine shop in Dolgellau has an excellent range of unusual, good value wines by the glass. Or if you’re looking for a boozer with a great atmosphere when staying at our best camping Snowdonia site, we’ll point you in the right direction.

You can also pre-order hampers of Welsh treats and wine for your arrival here. And Thursday night is Pizza Night at Graig Wen during the school holidays!
