A Bit Further

Here’s a few of the adventures and attractions to try when you’re exploring Snowdonia. Some  you may need to book well in advance:

Harlech Castle – a world heritage site and wonderfully dramatic castle.  Climb the battlements high above Cardigan Bay if you dare! The glam new cafe must have one of the best panoramic views of the Snowdonia Mountains in Wales.

Yr Wyddfa – Snowdon – the highest mountain in England and Wales and the icon of Snowdonia.  There are quieter mountains closer to us but if you plan to walk or take the train up Snowdon we can advise on routes and sell maps in reception.  You can also find detailed route planning information and book a guide up Snowdon here.

Zip World Titan and Bounce Below – Epic adventures in the slate caverns of Blaenau Ffestioniog less than 30 minutes drive. The world’s longest zip zone and a surreal subterranean playground! Zip World Velocity is a little further, about an hour and 20 minutes drove. Pre-booking absolutely essential as these activities are booked up weeks in advance! We strongly recommend you book before your holiday

Portmerion – there’s simply nothing like it! Explore the Italianate fantasy village made famous in The Prisoner cult 1960s TV show.

Ffestioniog and Welsh Highland Railways and Tal-y-llyn Railway – Steam in style through the woods and hills, and watch the rivers rush below you.

King Arthur’s Labyrinth- A mystical family friendly adventure through spectacular caverns. Enjoy tales of King Arthur and other ancient Welsh legends. Stories of dragons, giants and battle. Perfect all weather attraction.

Corris Mine Explorers- Explore an abandoned slate mine in the experienced hands of “Mark the Mole”.

Snowdonia Adventure Activities – Want to scramble down a secret gorge, zip wire through a waterfall or kayak along a beautiful estuary?> This small local business leads adventures for all ages in stunning natural surroundings. Pre-booking essential

National Whitewater Rafting Centre – you’ll never have so much fun getting wet and wild!

About an hour a half away you’ll find castles in Caernarfon, Conwy and Beaumaris; a wonderfully retro cable car ride to the top of the Great Orme above Llandudno; Bodnant Gardens and the Welsh Food Centre
