Eating Out

You have a wide choice for eating out within 5 – 10 minutes drive every day of the week. There are excellent family and pet friendly pubs, cafes and bistros plus restaurants ranging from fine dining to street food. within 30 minutes drive. You will find loads of up to date recommendations in our Guest Welcome Guide and we strongly recommend advance booking for tables at weekends and busy times. Whether you fancy melt in your mouth Welsh lamb or fish and chips by the beach, you can find it here!

You can walk, or even better, bike to a couple of local pubs.  It’s an hour and a half minutes walk along the beautiful Mawddach Estuary Trail, or 25 minutes by bike on cycle path all the way to the George III at Penmaenpool. There’s also a daytime bus service. Or you can take the Mawddach Trail over one of the most iconic and scenic bridges in the country to the pubs and cafes of Barmouth. Dolgellau has cosy and welcoming pubs where you can often hear live music too.

Some of our favourite local restuarants include: Mawddach Neapolitan Pizzeria, The Torrent pub, Foxglove Barmouth,The Salt Marsh Kitchen and Bistro Bermo. And it’s always hard to resist having second helpings of Meg’s amazing cakes at TH Roberts cafe in Dolgellau! Check out our blog about best places to eat out around Barmouth and Dolgellau.
