Glamping Holiday in Snowdonia & Snowdonia Camping

Looking for a great glamping experience? Here’s why our regulars love to holiday in Snowdonia with our Snowdonia Camping.

Graig Wen is a fantastic location for Snowdonia camping adventures & family glamping in Snowdonia National Park – and we’re open until January!

Within about an hour of our glamping Snowdonia accommodation, there’s so much to do, from Zip World activities, canyoning and gorge scrambling to kayaking, mountain biking and SUP boarding.

On the doorstep of our Snowdonia glamping site is the Mawddach Trail – a traffic free, flat route ideal for family cycling holidays. Cycle from Graig Wen across the iconic bridge to seaside Barmouth.

Barmouth SUP will take you out onto the Mawddach Estuary from Barmouth Harbour for safe paddle boarding fun in the most stunning scenery.

If mountain biking is your thing for a family glamping holiday in Wales, Coed y Brenin mountain bike centre is 15 minutes drive from Graig Wen.  Set in a vast forest with rocky rivers and waterfalls, the Minotaur route is a wild ride for families and there’s a skills area too.

For all weather activities, Zip World’s Caverns has three unique underground adventures to choose from: try Bounce Below’s giant illuminated trampolines; four floors of golf with a difference; or push your bravery and endurance to the test with 13 zip lines, via ferrata, rope bridges and tightropes  – all in underground caverns colourfully it up.

Join Corris Mine Explorers for an authentic tour of a disused slate mine just 20 minutes drive from Graig Wen.  For younger children there’s a magical adventure into King Arthur’s Labyrinth at the same venue.

Experience raw adventure gorge scrambling and canyoning in Snowdonia’s ancient Celtic rainforest. Snowdonia Adventure Activities will meet you for expertly guided and great value activities 45 minutes drive from Graig Wen.

Go kayaking on Wales’s largest lake, Llyn Tegid at Bala, 30 minutes drive away.  Nearby are the white water thrills of the National Whitewater Rafting Centre.

Half Term Halloween Thrills!

For a family glamping holiday in Wales this Autumn there’s unique thrills to be found!

From 17th October – 1st November at Zip World Fear Fforest you’ll find the ultimate Halloween experience as demonic clowns haunt illuminated woods in a spine tingling spook fest. There’s terrifying night rides on the Cursed Coaster and a Screamride on one of Europe’s largest swings.

Another Halloween highlight that’s FREE and a big favourite with local families is The Ghost Walk and Fright Night near Tywyn. It’s held on Saturday 29th October in the shadowy woods of Ynysmaengwyn about 25 minutes drive from Graig Wen. The Ghost Walk is free with a bar, music, hot food and spot prizes for scariest fancy dress!

On Saturday 5th November there is a spectacular fireworks display over Barmouth harbour. You can often watch this across the Estuary from Graig Wen close to the comfort of your glamping accommodation.

Griag Wen is only an hour and a half from the Welsh border so if you’re in Shropshire, Cheshire, Anglesey or the Wrexham areas looking for “family glamping near me” then our Snowdonia glamping accommodation is nearby.

Open until January!

Our yurts are open until the end of October and our cosy shepherd’s hut and quarry wagons stay open right through until early January. Ideal for your family glamping holiday in Wales!
