Graig Wen is by the Mawddach Trail Dolgellau between Arthog and Penmaenpool. We’re right on the Traws Eryri trail close to the end of stage 1. Whether you’re a bike-packer, mountain biker, cycle tourer or just enjoy a day out on bikes with the family, our Snowdonia camping, glamping  and self catering accommodation is an ideal location. We are also located close by the Barmouth Cycle trail.

Camping – bring your tent, bivvy bag or camper van.

Bike-packers – Contact us and we’ll offer you the best available rate. Let us know if you plan to arrive along the Mawddach Tail or from the road and we can allocate the most suitable pitch for you.

Small Duchess wagon – a proper bed for a good night’s sleep whatever the weather (ideally bring your own sleeping bag and towel). Instant heat and simple cooking facilities. Sleeps up to 3 in 2 beds. Contact us for solo bike-packer discount.

Holiday Cottages and Glamping – ideal if you are planning a longer stay.

 

Bike friendly facilities

Bike storage – cycle shelter and racks around site where you can lock your bike. Bring your own lock.

Bike wash – Hose, bucket and old cloths available

Refuelling – pre-order breakfast sausage rolls, croissants and fresh coffee. We have a shelter for cooking and microwave. Frozen ready meals, takeaway flapjacks and energy bars available. For hot meals bike along the flat Mawddach Trail to Barmouth (3.5 miles), the George III pub Penmaenpool (3.5 miles) or Fairbourne (4.5 miles). We sell cold, local craft beers and ciders which are usually of keen interest to cycle tourists after a long day in the saddle.

Clothes drying – Shelter with a line to hang out clothes to dry. Please ask if you need help drying clothes to get back in the saddle next day. Laundrettes nearby in Fairbourne or Dolgellau which offer a service wash.

Charging phones/e-bikes – You can recharge your phone here. Please ask if you need to recharge an electric bike

Local knowledge – we are cyclists ourselves and enjoy sharing knowledge about your onward route, terrain, pit stops and places of interest

Bike tools – Track pump and basic tools available.  Repair and spares shop in Dolgellau 5 miles away.

First Aid Kit

Public transport  to Graig Wen – Take the train to Morfa Mawddach station and cycle 2 miles along the flat Mawddach Trail.
