The smaller of our two hand-crafted yurts in Wales’ Snowdonia National Park sleeps two adults on a double pull out bed. The yurt is in an exceptional location – just open the door in the morning for stunning Mawddach Estuary views and sit on the deck in the evenings round a camp fire with your glass of wine.
Private and tranquil, the yurt for two is super cosy with rugs, sheepskins, Welsh blankets and the wood burning stove. Outside you can enjoy the wonderful Snowdonia scenery of the hills and ancient woodland. The campfire outside makes the perfect spot for star gazing by night.
The yurt is off grid, so there is simple solar lighting and we provide you with a lantern – we are in Snowdonia National Park Dark Skies Reserve so you’ll need it to find your way to the loo at night! There is access to a fridge/freezer as well as the coolbox in the yurt. We are happy to recharge phones etc for you in reception, and there is also a wifi point for those who don’t want to switch off completely!
Inside the yurt, there’s a 2 ring camping gas cooker and a full range of cooking utensils. For those who prefer to eat out, we can recommend lots of good places nearby. There’s space for one car to park near the yurt and we welcome well behaved dogs.
Loo and Shower
There is a hot shower and nice clean compost loo a few steps away. Further conventional loos with wash basins and hot water, and hot showers are about 100 metres away shared with the rest of the camp site. There are electric sockets for you to bring a hairdryer here.
Update July 2020 – While the Welsh Government requires holiday accommodation to be self contained with guests using their own kitchens and bathrooms that no other guests use, there is a dedicated loo and washroom for guests in the small yurt about 100 metres away. There is a simple outdoor solar shower by the yurt – it will be an experience! When shared bathroom facilities are permitted again, small yurt guests will share the compost loo and hot shower which is closer and shared with no more than 8 other guests from the shepherd’s hut and Tommy.
