We love dogs and welcome well behaved dogs and their owners to our dog friendly North Wales self catering accommodation in Eryri/Snowdonia National Park, North Wales.

Our Snowdonia holiday cottages and pet friendly glamping are a great place to bring your dog, with many wonderful walks from the doorstep and year round dog friendly beaches just a few minutes drive.

There are local cafes and pubs in Barmouth and near Dolgellau which welcome dogs as well as families, serve food and make a good couple of hour’s walk along the estuary from Graig Wen or a few minutes by car.

Ground Rules

As sheep graze nearby and small children wander around our buildings and camp site, your dogs must be kept on a lead or long line on site at all times.  They can be allowed off the lead to explore once on the Mawddach Trail which is a 5 minute walk down our steepish track to the estuary. We provide biodegradable poo bags around the site in case you have forgotten some.

We ask that pets are not left unattended in any of our self catering accommodation as even the calmest characters can get distressed when left alone in a new place.  We can put you in touch with a dog walker/sitter or nearby kennels to provide day care if you plan on visiting one of the few Snowdonia attractions that are not dog friendly such as the steam train up Snowdon or Portmeirion.

But don’t worry, we can tell you about lots of attractions from castles to steam trains which welcome your four legged friends.

Our Pets

We have two rescue lurchers called Bryn and Franklin who love people but like to meet other friendly dogs in their own time.   Please remember it is their home and give them space.

Charges

We make a charge for dogs visiting our camp site which is donated to a local animal shelter. In the last few years, Almost Home Dog Rescue and Freshfields Animal Sanctuary has benefitted from over £5000 from our campers’ contributions.

We make a charge of £10/ dog to cover the extra cleaning we do in the cottages and yurts to ensure they are thoroughly clean for the next guests.

Which accommodation is best for me and my dog?

Pine Cottage has a large enclosed terrace which is ideal for dogs and Small Barn and Little Haven also have smaller enclosed outdoor areas.

Idris yurt is private and secluded and has loads of outdoor space for a dog to be secure on a long line but with a bit more freedom – a great option for reactive dogs. Our large yurt, Tommy and Blodeuwedd yurts also have plenty of interior space for a family and their faithful friends.  Please note our yurts are not escape proof for doggie Houdinis!

Jones the shepherd’s hut and our new wagons are better suited to those with one dog or 2 smaller dogs due to the space inside. These are escape proof!

Ty’r Adâr cottage has a woodburning stove which dogs love to settle in front of. There’s no enclosed outdoors space so you’ll need to pop them on a lead to take them out for the short walk across the camp site to the woods (an area of which has fairy lights at night).

Our holiday cottage in Dolgellau now welcomes dogs and although there is no outdoor space, it’s only a short walk through quiet streets to green space.

Our super secluded tent camping pitches are good if you have a dog which does not like to see too many people passing by.
