Festive Season at Graig Wen
Planning to get away from it all for Christmas or to see in the New Year?
Our holiday accommodation in Snowdonia National Park is a stunning spot to celebrate Christmas or New Year’s Eve. You’ll find a warm welcome in our 4 self-catering cottages which are decorated with Christmas trees. For the first time this year we will also have Christmas and New Year’s Eve glamping available in our two pop-up yurts. The camp site is open for 5 vans with electric hook ups. Winter is a wonderful time to see why Snowdonia is one of the few International Dark Skies Reserves – on a clear, crisp night you can sit and star-gaze from our communal camp fire in the woods.
We usually book our 4 holiday cottages for week long breaks but we can be flexible on arrival dates, so please call to discuss your requirements. There is sometimes availability for shorter stays nearer to the time.
There are excellent independent shops as well as a couple of supermarkets in Dolgellau to stock up on supplies. You can pre-order good free-range sausages, bacon, ham and eggs from our local farm and turkey from the local butchers to save you transporting it all here.
Although the mountains can look wonderful with a sprinkling of snow on the tops in December, being near sea level on the Mawddach Estuary and with well gritted access roads, getting here has never been a problem for the festive season.
Steam trains offer Santa Specials during December and Bounce Below hosts a Santa Adventure Grotto! There are plenty of welcoming pubs, cafes and restaurants open and we can advise on restaurants if you want to book a slap up meal. How about cycling along the Mawddach Estuary trail to the pub for a different sort of Christmas day? Read more about Snowdonia winter attractions on our blog.
We are flexible on arrival dates over the festive season – please contact us to discuss your requirements. Short breaks of less than a week may be available in cottages nearer the time. To check prices and book go to the Booking page of our web site but if you have seen a better deal on this page than the online price please quote this when booking.
